Maternal and fetal outcomes following the trial of vaginal delivery and elective repeat caesarean section in term pregnancy with one previous lower segment caesarean section in Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital: a prospective controlled study

Background: Before 1970s, the phrase “once a caesarean, always caesarean” was common norm. Now this has been changed to an institutional delivery”.Methods: This prospective controlled study carried out in department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College Hospital, Rohini, Delhi for period 7 months (October 19 April 2020) included 200 gravid women with previous one lower segment caesarean section (LSCS). The ethical committee approval taken.Results: success rate trial labour after (TOLAC) our 67%. It concluded from that percentage woman having complications were maximum failed TOLAC patients which 69.70% followed by undergoing elective repeat delivery (ERCD) 59% successful VBAC 8.96%. neonate 27.27% ERCD 21% 5.97%.Conclusions: second is much-needed feasible option developing countries reduce cost morbidities deliveries.
